Extra Long Weekend
People aren’t RSVPing to the wedding, and we’re getting a lot of No’s. I’m worried we won’t make our 150 minimum. Actually, I’m 99% sure we won’t make our minimum. It’s not the end of the world, but it sucks. I could have invited more people. I could invite them now, but I’m sure they won’t come anyway. … Any of you want to come?
Bryan and I got free dinner Saturday night due to waiting so long for our food. We didn’t complain or anything, the manager just told us it was free. Well, it wasn’t completely free. I did pay for dessert and left the waitress a nice tip. I was going to spend the money anyway, more than twice as much, so why not make someone else’s day too? Wasn’t her fault the kitchen was backed up. I don’t think Chili’s has the best food out of all of those places, but they definitely have the best service. I didn’t get sick this time either! Yay fajitas!
Friday I took off work and my mom and I got our eyebrows threaded in the morning. Definitely better than waxing. Looks better, hurt less, my skin wasn’t red and swollen after, I didn’t break out and it was frelling cheap. $3. Really can’t beat that. My mom did get a little swollen after. I guess her skin is even more sensitive than mine.
After lunch, we went to the Grand Marquis to finalize the menu for the wedding. We also picked our linens, the cake design, and ice sculpture design. The cake will be boring, but yummy.
Saturday we went to Dante’s to pick out the tuxes for the guys.
Sunday, I bought my tiara. I didn’t plan on getting something so expensive, but it was a good price and very pretty. You can see it in the wedding blog. The woman who sold it to me was perhaps the nicest lady ever. She was going on vacation for two week, so I pretty much had to buy the tiara that day or that was it. She encouraged me to look around anyway since I hadn’t yet. I really don’t have time to look though and the one I bought was so perfect. She gave me a small discount on the already reasonable price too. She was unhappy though that I will be wearing some of my hair down for the wedding. She kept saying I have the perfect face shape. She was also disappointed to here that I was a programmer and not a model, lol. I kid you not. Very sweet lady.
Yesterday, I was at Rutgers all day interviewing people. It was weird being back on Busch. Like visiting high school, but with fewer bad memories. We had some really good interviews too. It really makes a difference recruiting earlier in the year. I know by the end of November my senior year, most people already had jobs lined up for June.
Driving was an adventure. I’ve never really driven in rush hour traffic before. My GPS wanted me to take 287 there, but I took one look at 287 and decided to take the Turnpike to 18. The Turnpike was ok, but 18 was frickin’ nuts. After the toll, there’s like hundreds of cars trying to merge into two lanes. How do people do that every morning? Once I got past that though, traffic was moving OK. Only took ten minutes longer to get there. I had about the same experience going home. My GPS really told me some crazy way to get to 287 though. I had no idea where I was, but I got there. Then I let a truck in front of me, ’cause ya know, not a good idea to compete with big ass truck, and some crazy dude decided he would cut in front of me too, even though he had no room to do so. Luckily I was looking at my mirror at the time and saw him acting like an idiot. Really people, is it worth risking your life to get one car ahead? People are nuts.
ME, ME, ME! I WANT TO GO!!! Heheh. I’m not joking or trying to make you feel better, I’m serious. Hehe.
Oh woah, that is SO great about the free dinner! WOW!
Hmm, I have sensitive skin, so not sure about the whole threading thing then…
Oh man, I can’t wait to see that tiara on you with the dress on!
LOL, you actually have a GPS device?! Haha. Yeah, someone told me that someone else got lost in San Francisco, even with the GPS. Haha.
Really? Because I would love it if you came! I really thought you wouldn’t want to travel to NY in the winter time. And you already missed the window to reserve a room with our room block :( Poo, I should have asked you earlier. If you really want to come, I’m sure we could figure out something.
You’re right about not going to NY in the winter time. But it’s your wedding! Hehe. We’ll see. How long do I have to answer you back? Work’s crazy, and I haven’t had time to do ANYTHING! I have to work again tonight, just taking a little small breather. =( Yeah, I was going to ask you something, but it’s better if it’s private. Haha. I’ll talk to you later about it, or through e-mail or something.
If I weren’t on the other side of the world – I would also totally come!
Btw I also looked at your wedding dress, it’s so pretty! :D
If I didn’t lead such an effed up life, I might actually consider going! It would be fun to meet you after all these years. lol. “Simply Precious” should totally go though!
I have no idea what eyebrow threading is, but I’m intrigued! I pay $19 for waxing and always get red. Ouch!
