Well, I finally switched to WordPress. I clung to b2 for a very, very, very long time, but I’ve outgrown it. I did love my smiley hack and many of the others I either wrote myself, but it was outdated and messy. I was also reluctant to switch because my WCS WordPress blog was getting hit with so much more spam. But WordPress has better protection for that now. I also feel like I’ve outgrown my other site. I’ve felt that way for a while though and that’s why it’s been somewhat hidden.
I still don’t like how bulky WordPress is, but with bulkiness comes many nifty features. They make it so incredibly easy to install plugins. Seriously, like brainless. I spent a good 3 days installing the LJ hack for b2. Do you know how long it to me to install it for WordPress? One or two minutes. I really like this gallery plugin too. I only had to make the smallest changes to the layout for that.
And speaking of the layout, I know everyone wants the duck back. I’m thinking the duck may be too similar to this layout, but we shall see. I’m not even sure if I want to skin the blog. I already have my portfolio to show off my designs. I do really like this layout. It came out exactly how I imagined it in my head. Well, it was a bit more colorful in my head, but this looks better.
